Here at Stagg Homes, we’re VERY proud to announce that we have won the British Property Award for Sittingbourne.
This came as a great surprise to us, as the British Property Awards are very prestigious and we’re just a small Kentish agency. But the judges thought we were the best, and we’re extremely pleased with their decision!
The best thing about it is the reason we won. We’ve always prided ourselves on exemplary customer service. Here at Stagg Homes we aim to respond to all queries within a day, and go out of our way to make sure that our customers get the best possible service every step of the way.
We’ve never been in this game to make a massive profit. It’s always been about helping people to the very best of our abilities. And it was this, ultimately, that got us the win over the bigger names in the area.
The British Property Awards are a national awards provider run by former estate agents. While many awards work like a popularity contest, with big brands using their networks to get nominated and to win, the BPA works on a more objective basis. Judges mystery shop estate agents nationwide, doing things like emailing in enquiries or phoning up the agencies to judge how helpful they are over the phone. They then make their judgements based on how well the agents respond.
The judging process is extensive and takes place over several months. This came as a shock to us as, until the very final stages, we had no idea that we were being assessed for an award! And it seems that their findings often surprise the judging panel, too. As the British Property Awards put it on their website:
It’s not easy to impress the BPA team. As they themselves were estate agents they know exactly how things should be done, and they have a vested interest in not rewarding anything other than excellence.
And Stagg Homes provided that excellence.
At first, we were honestly unsure about whether we wanted to make a big deal of this award. We are, after all, a small estate agent that sells a very small number of properties compared to bigger names in the area.
But the more we thought about it, the more proud we became of what we’ve achieved. We have always been in the business to help people. We’re not out to make a huge amount of money. In fact, we work hard to keep our fees low and our prices fair. The personal, helpful, and communicative quality of our customer service has always been massively important to us, and we’re honestly delighted that it’s withstood (and excelled at!) the test of the exacting BPA judges.
As Emma Stagg puts it:
“It’s not about how many properties we’ve sold. It’s about the fact that we do what we do right.”
What impressed the judges about Stagg Homes? Well…
- We were responsive, helpful, and friendly every time they contacted us.
- We went out of our way to quickly find answers or offer solutions for complex enquiries.
- We responded to every single communication within 24 hours (usually within the same day, depending on the timing of the communication!)
- Our personable communication style put the judges at ease and made them feel that they were in safe hands.
- It was clear from the way we interacted with the judges that we had a genuine desire to help them as much as we possibly could.
We were consistently friendly, responsive, and helpful every time we were contacted. And, while we’re not surprised by this, we are very proud to be recognised for it.
So what’s next for Stagg Homes? How are we going to build on this latest success?
Well, for a start we’re going to keep entering the British Property Awards. We’re feeling quite possessive of our ‘Gold Winners’ title, and don’t want anyone else to have it!
But in more practical terms, we’re going to keep on doing what we’re doing. We’re going to continue being the most helpful estate agency in Sittingbourne, and we’re going to do our best to build on our excellent standards of customer service.
